This Privacy Policy explains what information the AI Grammar Checker app ("the app", "we", "us") handles, why, and what your choices are. We built the app to collect as little as possible: the app has no accounts, no ads, and no analytics or tracking.
The text you check #
To correct or paraphrase your writing, the app sends the text you enter to our server when you tap Check Grammar. When you check the same text again to get a new paraphrase, the app also sends the earlier results so it can suggest a different version.
Our server passes this text to our AI provider, OpenAI, which generates the correction and returns it to the app. The text is used only to produce your result. We do not:
- sell or share your text for advertising or marketing,
- use your text to build a profile of you, or
- link your text to your name, email address, or Apple ID.
We do not keep your text in a database. Our hosting provider and OpenAI may keep short-lived technical logs for security, abuse prevention, and troubleshooting, and delete them according to their own retention policies. Under OpenAI's API terms, data sent through its API is not used to train its models by default.
Please don't enter sensitive personal information, such as passwords, financial details, or health information, into the app.
History on your device #
The list of your checks and corrections is kept only in the app's memory on your device, and it is cleared when you close the app. It is never uploaded as a history.
Purchases and subscriptions #
Subscriptions are processed by Apple through the App Store. We never see your payment details. We use RevenueCat to check whether you have an active subscription. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app user ID and your purchase history from Apple, but not your name or email address.
Analytics and tracking #
The app does not contain analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs, and it does not track you across other apps or websites.
This website #
Our website, aigrammar.app, uses Google Analytics to understand how many people visit and which pages they read. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects information such as the pages you view, your approximate location, and your device and browser type. We use this only to improve the website. You can learn more in Google's privacy policy and opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. This applies to the website only; the app itself contains no analytics.
Settings #
Your app preferences and your daily free-check count are stored on your device.
Contacting us #
If you email us for support, we use your email address and message only to reply to you.
Children #
The app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your choices #
You can stop all data processing by deleting the app. Because we don't keep your text or link it to you, there is no account data for us to delete. If you have any questions or requests about your data, email us and we'll help.
Changes to this policy #
If we change this policy, we will update this page and the "Last updated" date above.
