i.e. 和 e.g. 都来自拉丁语，又都常出现在括号里，所以很容易混淆。但它们的作用完全不同。

标点写法 #

  • 两个缩写的每个字母后面都要加句点：e.g.、i.e.
  • 在美式英语中，它们后面通常跟一个逗号：(e.g., apples)。英式英语则常常省略这个逗号。
  • e.g. 后面不要再加 etc.：这个列举本来就是开放式的。
